Blocked Sewer in Ermington

Once inside, a root keeps growing toward the moisture and nutrients running through the pipe, and what started as a thread becomes a solid mass blocking the line completely.

Blocks near green space, including the streets around George Kendall Riverside Park, share the same mature street-tree canopy as the rest of Ermington's post-war blocks, which is what keeps the roots coming rather than anything particular to the reserve itself.

It's no reason to avoid a leafy street. It's simply why a camera check earns its keep before a small root problem turns into a full collapse.

A few holding actions help while a plumber is on the way. Stop running water into the affected line altogether, including flushing toilets or using washing machines and dishwashers connected to it.

Do not attempt to force a blockage further into the system, and keep children and pets away from any area where wastewater has surfaced. Beyond that, there is nothing you need to sort out yourself.
